Literacy Coaching

Do you secretly struggle understanding or dissecting a paragraph, essay, or assigned texts for school or work? Are you reading and re-reading emails, essays, or chapters over and over again? Work with me to receive targeted coaching with tailored lessons to conquer the skills you need help with! All of my students and clients, from ages 10 to 45 have raved about how they experience long-term benefits from working with me.

This package includes:

• 30-45 minute conversation around who you are, your experience(s) with reading and what skills you are hoping to gain by working with me

• Reading assessment to identify your strengths and weaknesses

• Three 45 minute lessons which include explicit instruction and guided practice

• One-on-one, targeted coaching on the skills you need to improve (via phone or Zoom)

• Three independent activities that will reinforce what you learned

• Follow up and reflection around your experience

• Supplemental activities to help you maintain your skills

• 30 days of additional follow-up related questions and guidance around the skills you are practicing

Skills include but are not limited to:

• Annotating text (how to take effective notes)

• Identifying the main idea

• Identifying key details and supporting details

• Summarizing

• Inferencing

• Author’s/writer’s purpose

• Sequencing

• Synthesizing information (putting ideas together)

• Visualizing a text
